Traveling On
It has been too long since I updated this page! Our year has ended and summer adventures begin. We have had a great year and it will be hard to live up to this group of wonderful children. Thank you parents for the time you spent in prayer for us, thank you for your confidence and thank you for your trust. May God richly bless and reward you for the efforts you are making to “train up your child in the way he should go”.
I read a quote by C.H. Spurgeon in my devotion today. I would like to share it with you. “Train your child in the way in which you know you should have gone yourself.”

Crunch Time
It is amazing to me how fast this time of year arrives. Spring break has past and now the last few weeks loom ahead. I enjoy this time but I also dread the time as goodbyes are about to take place. All of these students are so bright and everyday is an adventure! Verse “V” will be due on Friday, April 11th. Next week will be a big week for Achievment tests. Early to bed and a good breakfast with a healthy snack will make a big difference in test performance.
Next Monday’s folder will have important papers about the end of school, watch for it! Play parts and graduation parts will come home Graduation will be in the gym. We will begin at 7:00 pm. Children should be in the gym by 6:45 on May 16th.

Spring has Sprung!
That title may be a little early but it comes from a poem my husband’s uncle taught me. I am trying to help the warm weather feel welcome!
Please remember Bryan’s family. His dad’s mother, Carolyn Cochran, passed away. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a very loving grandmother. Bryan will miss her very much. Even at six years old children, who love deeply, feel grief and sorrow. As you pray, pray for God’s comfort to surround them.
Thank you so much for all the can goods you have sent. We will be sharing them with those in great need. Let us not forget to thank God that He has blessed us so abundantly.
Bible Verse “S” will be due this Friday, March 7th.
Our newest turtle, “Swimmer” didn’t make it. But already we have had others offering to give us another turtle. We will let you know how that turns out.
Science Experiment Fridays has begun. The children are so excited. We may have a few scientist in this group. Isn’t it amazing what a future these little minds have ahead of them? I pray God directs their paths into His service with every step they take.
Remember us in your prayers and pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

February?
Where did this month go? I am way behind and it is not because of snow days. Work wise we are doing great. These children are reading so well. I know you must be very proud of their efforts. Cursive writing is looking good and their number work with clocks and money have me grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for allowing me to teach your child.
Bible verse “R” Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:8 will be due on Friday, February 22nd.
Thanks for all the can goods sent in for the God’s Pantry Food Barn. We still need a few more to fill the barn. We will take donations through the month, ending on Friday, February29th.
There will be no school on March 20th. This is another scheduled inservice day for teachers.

Goodbye January!
Our last week of January will find us celebrating Bryan’s birthday. He is already talking about it.
”P”, Praise ye the Lord, for it is good to sing praises unto our God. This verse will be due on Friday, February 1st.
Our homecoming events were just beautiful. We were well represented. Thank you to Olivia and Jakob.
We will be having a Valentine party on February 14th. More information will come home in folders.
Our food drive for God’s Pantry will begin on Friday, February 1st through the 14th. Instead of buying candy for me (that I don’t need) please put the money toward can goods to give to the food drive. We may visit the Pantry as a field trip. I have done this in time past.

New Year! New Adventures!
We are so glad to be back. Routines are wonderful. We started Library this week. Mrs. Harp our librarian will be conducting the class. Books will come home on Tuesday and be returned the following Tuesday. Just remember the day you return folders will be the day Library books are due back. Books will be returned to the Kindergarten classroom basket by the door.
“M” My son, give me thine heart. Proverbs 23:26, Bible verse will be due on Friday, January 11, 2008!
Thank you for all the wonderful gifts bestowed upon me. I appreciate them all.
Our number three turtle is not well. It could depart this world anytime. I brought “Camille” to take their attention off him. Just as I thought the chameleon has changed our thought patterns. All our concentration has been on her. Ask your child about Camille’s eyes, feet, tail, and eating habits, you should get some interesting answers.

Hanukah
We have spent most of the week learning about this most interesting holiday. Please ask your children to tell you what they learned about Judah Maccabee (the Hammer), the Menorah, the dreidel, and latkes. Each child is supposed to bring a picture of a menorah or a homemade menorah for Monday’s class. We will be eating latkes, applesauce and a few other treats on Monday morning as we finish up our unit on this Jewish Holiday.
Bible verse “L” Look unto me, and be ye saved. Isaiah 45:22 will be due next Friday, December 14th. This will be our last verse for 2007.
Make-up day for pictures will be December 11th. Children need to return packets that day to have retakes made.

Bible verse “K”, Keep they tongue from evil. Psalm 34:14 is due on Friday, December 7th.
Reading groups are fantastic! I cannot believe how great they are doing!
We have had strep in class and some pretty bad coughs. Just be aware it is the season to share!
