Reading Groups

Wow, can it be the last of November already.  I need to change my page header soon.  Hope you all had a wonderful
Thanksgiving, filled with joy, happiness, and family.  Thanks for coming to eat pie with us.  We sure enjoyed having you in our classroom.

Verse “J” is due Friday if not sooner.

Reading Groups begin this week.  Make sure you inquire about this big event in our class.  Along with reading comes seatwork, that isn’t always as much fun.  While I work with one group the others have work at their desk to complete each day.  This group is ready to READ!

Please remember Brooke in your prayers as she will be having ear surgery to repair a hole in her ear.  It entails grafting skin, that doesn’t sound fun at all.  She is scheduled for surgery on December 3rd.

Please check folders for December calendar and note.

Read Psalm 96 and meditate on verse 2!!!!!!

Pumpkin Pie Day

Tuesday around 11:00 am come and join us for some pumpkin pie that your child made.  Your child will serve you and stand beside you in appreciation and thanks for all you do for them.  They may also dress up again that day as Native Americans and Pilgrims.

Verse “J” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. This verse will be due on November 30th.  They may say their verse at anytime before that day if they are ready.

Special thanks to all those families who gave so that we could have a wonderful family feast for Thanksgiving.  The children enjoyed eating with you in the gym.  I liked everything but my picture being taken in a Red Sox’s baseball cap.  I am a dyed in the wool YANKEE’ fan.  Everyone of my children had a parent present.  Thank you for coming.

Ask your children the meaning of the words, omnipotent, ominpresent, and ominscient.  I am so thankful that they are learning about our one true God.   Then ask them how Squanto and Joseph were used by God to fill the purpose of bad things happening to good people, then God turning it for good! (Romans 8:28)  How wonderful it is to be free to share this knowledge with them! Let us never take for granted the freedoms we have in the USA.  Pray for our leaders and those who have authority over us.

Teepee,pumpkins,indian corn

Mr. Bowles put up our teepee this weekend and decorated the entrance with things he grew in our garden.  The children were in a tizzy this morning to see our new addition.  It takes up a lot of room but it sure is fun to spend our storytime in what feels like a real teepee.  We listened to Native American radio on the web as we colored our paper teepees.

We are glad to welcome Bailey’s little (8lbs) brother, Brady Allen into the world.

It is great to have Mrs. Hall well again and back with us.

Bible verse  “I” If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” John 14:14  will be due Friday, November 9th.

Please vote on Tuesday!  Pray for our nation and our leaders.  Isn’t it great to know that God is in control, no matter who thinks they are in charge?!

As the weather changes!

November brings Native Americans to our classroom.  We use this month to recognize and honor those first Americans.  Look for some exciting happenings in our room.

Please VOTE on November 6th.  I am a poll officer and will not be at school.  Mrs. Hall will be the sub that day.

There will be NO open house on November 8th.  Seems every private school around town has chosen that date.  We will reschedule.

That week is also parent/teacher conference week.  Unless you know of a problem or have a deep concern it is not necessary to meet.  Let me know if you would like to have a conference and we will schedule it around afterschool care and election day.   Life is busy!  I am not complaining only informing.

Verse “H” is due Friday, November 2nd.   Honour thy father and thy mother.  Exodus 20:12.

Make plans ahead to join us for the Thanksgiving Lunch on Friday, November 16th. Kindergarten will eat first at 10:45. Students may go home with parents afterward.  This is also a dress up day.

On Tuesday November 20th we will be serving pumpkin pie that we have made with our own little hands.  More information on the times will be coming home later.

Fall Has Arrived

Hope to see you at the Fall Festival this Friday evening from 6 to 9.  Please come and bring your friends and neighbors.  Cakes or goodies should be brought to the Library tomorrow or the gym on Friday afternoon.

Smokey the Bear came for a visit today.  We had a great time listening to our speaker and giving Smokey our greetings.  He is 60 plus years old and Mrs. Hall says, “His coat sure looks good for being that age!”

Praise God for the rain!

New week, new adventure!

We hope your fall break was one to remember!  Thank you for your prayers.  Renee, Jesseca, and Gabriel are all safe in England with Jed. God saw us through many experiences as we helped them on their way.  I will miss my grandchildren as I do my son and daughter-in-law but they are where they should be, together as a family.  Even if they are across the ocean they are safe in God’s hands.

Bible verse F is due, Friday,  Fear not for I am with thee.  Isaiah 43:5.  Ask your child to show you the hand signals for this verse.

Johnny Appleseed’s Day

We sang Happy Birthday to Johnny Appleseed in a real live apple orchard.  Granted the apples were small and the drought had limited our choices but we sure enjoyed picking them.

Our apple doughnuts and cider were delicious and hit the spot before we went on our hayride.  The hayride was fun but dry! We saw pumpkin fields, grape vines, gourd fields, a corn maze, and so many different apple trees we couldn’t begin to name them.

God truly gave us a perfect weather day.  We didn’t pray for it not to rain because we know the earth around here needs a big gulp of water.  We wanted to go on the field trip but we prayed the Lord’s will be done!  Doesn’t He always prove His love for us and reveal Himself to children in the most perfect ways?  To God be the glory for the wonderful things He does for us and for the times He takes us through the rough parts!

Adventures on the web!

Every kindergarten student knows how much I like spiders and other critters.  What better way to begin my weblog than writing on my WEB?  Our year has been going great.  So far I am very impressed with all the hard work these children are putting forth.  Their cursive writing papers are something to behold.  They seem to enjoy it and are very amazed that it is so simple.  Our field trip is next Wednesday, if it doesn’t rain.  Bible verse “D”, Depart from evil, and do good. Psalm 34:14 will be due next Friday, September 28th.

I am still in the process of setting a time for Library.

Read Psalm 31 this evening and know that our God is a God we can put our hope and trust in not matter the situations we face.
